Biography
Marc Costa Ros is Senior Manager in the Carbon Trust´s Offshore Wind team, Present London, United Kingdom. focused in the delivery of the Offshore Wind Accelerator, a joint R&D program with 9 of the major offshore wind developers, which aims to reduce the LCOE by 10% for UK Round 3 sites through a wide R&D project portfolio, gaining a deep Offshore wind lifecycle understanding and focus in LCOE reduction. Chartered MSc Civil Engineer specialized in both “Structural Design and Analysis†and “Construction Engineering†and with knowledge in Naval Architecture and Finance, very motivated in developing my career in the Offshore Wind sector. Extensive work experience background in wind energy, with high knowledge of the offshore wind business and lifecycle; and structural civil engineering specialised consulting and construction companies. Besides, being fluent in different languages, with strong management and technical skills, problem-solving, multitasking, well-organised and hardworking (both in team work and on standalone basis) are some of the characteristics that describe me. Head of Offshore Wind Division - MSc Civil Engineer (Structural designer) ESTEYCO, July 2010 – February 2013 (2 years 8 months) Barcelona Area, Spain. Responsible of the development of self-buoyant and completely crane-less Gravity Base Structure, including the structural design, manufacturing, transport, installation and final operation. Management of a resource-pooling team, with up to 7 people working simultaneously in a multidisciplinary team (structural engineers, geotechnical experts, naval architects, draftsmen). Strong communication skills as a sales engineer, giving commercial speeches across the EU. Supervision and approval of both internal and subcontracted works, with strong attention to detail. Design of onshore concrete towers for multi-megawatt turbines.
